Curry Saturday

Cuzza's surprise Saturday outing turned out to be a wonder of organisational skills and banter with the local flaura and fauna

This was, as Toe described a couple of days before, something we were all looking forward to with both excitement and trepidation. Curry in control of a social event where we had no idea what it would involve, were we all mad. Did we hate our livers that much. When we all rocked up to Clapham South station at 1 (excluding Rush, who was an hour late as usual) we were pleased to discover no strippers or Polish vodka was involved, as far as we could tell. A chase the ace bar crawl treasure hunt ensued, trust Cuzza to come up with something awesome. 2 teams were selected, cunningly devised so Grimmer was picked last. Well, he never was the most competitive of us....Anyway, Team A, or Team "lost at the first hurdle" as I prefer to call them, set off to locate the first clue, and 15 minutes later Team B (for better) gave chase. You may guess at this point I was leader of team B. Taking the whole thing far too seriously, a quick tube ride, sprint, map check and search later led to us meeting the first team in the first pub half way through their beverage. 1-0 to Team B. This continued for the rest of the crawl, where we located Makin Street, Remnant Street, about 6 awesome pubs none of us had been to before, and many beers. I personally enjoyed scaring a 90 year old woman half to death trying to get our A-Z back (which she didn't have) and being bantered by an old geezer who promtly performed several street magic tricks and wandered off in a world of his own. We concluded the trip at a curry house on Brick Lane, where we toasted Cuzza's accomplishment to not only get the clues out but to do so at 8am that morning. The curry went down a treat, as did a trip to Motion, then Walkabout, where some shapes were thrown when there was space for it, and Polish vodka finally reared its head. Hazziness followed, then a trip home, then an hour discussing politics with Curry at his place, followed by collapse. An awesome night all round, and by far the best Remnant Saturday we've had so far......
